A Sixty-Third Wedding Anniversary
Sixty-three years ago today, George T. and Kathryn A. were married, during Lent, in the sacristy of Sacred Heart Church in Malden, MA, shortly after my father's discharge from the Army. Dad died on December 31st, 1989, at the age of 69, and Mum at 75 on September 23rd, 1998.
O God, Who hast commanded us to honour our father and our mother, in Thy mercy have pity on the souls of my father George and my mother Kathryn, and forgive them their trespasses, and make me to see them again in the joy of everlasting light. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end.
Amen.
V. Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine.
R. Et lux perpetua luceat eis.
V. Requiescant in pace.
R. Amen.

Urgent Prayer Request For Father Neuhaus
In case you have not heard elsewhere, Father Richard John Neuhaus, the former Religion Editor of National Review, and current Editor of the excellent First Things, a convert from Lutheranism and now a priest of the New York Archdiocese, is on death's door, after developing an infection while battling cancer. Father George Rutler has already given him the Last Rites. Please pray most urgently for a happy and holy death for this excellent priest and commentator. God bless his soul.
